Ladies Healing Retreat in Andalucia

This is a ladies only healing retreat with everything you need to feel good. Unburdening past experiences, healing relationships and to have more joy and happiness in your life inshAllah.
We have a team of excellent healers and therapists, all of whom are Muslim and all work within the Islamic context.
The retreat will take place at the stunning Azahara Centre, located outside the spa town of Lanjaron, with acres of beautiful olive groves, special gardens and a large swimming pool.

We will meet you on arrival at Malaga airport and provide transport to and from the retreat.
Accommodation - located in the foothills of the Alpujarran mountains, the Azahara centre has a series of small houses, each with their own fitted kitchen and bathrooms. You can choose from a private room or sharing with one other sister.
Meals - Delicious local and Moroccan inspired dishes. All Halal, and organic whenever possible. Breakfast is at the individual houses and lunch and dinner served together on the main patio. Snacks and refreshments are also available throughout the day.
Therapies - An in depth one-to-one healing session with Raheema, a gifted healer.
An hour/hour and a half long full body massage with Saffia.
Group art therapy sessions with Yasmin
Meditation and Tai Chi - for inner peace and stillness.
Creative activities - with artist Hana Horack, walking and sketching.
Dhikrs - Rememberance of Allah and his beloved Rasullallah (uhbp) for healing and protection and our journey towards the Divine.
Optional Juma prayer in Orgiva, a traditional Muslim community.
Setting & accomodation
On this retreat, we intend to make the ideal environment to allow for everyone's healing and personal journey.
The Azahara Centre is set in the foothills of the Alpujarra mountains. The air is 100% pure and the spiritual atmosphere of Andalucia makes the spirits soar.
There are three houses, each with its own kitchen and living area with plenty of room to spread out.
Ladies either have a private room or shared twin room.
Activity and therapy programme
We have a wonderful range of therapies and activities included in the retreat and an opportunity to have more therapies on request.
- Full body intuitive masages by Saffia using aromatherapy.
- Healing sessions with Raheema Chandler using Tibetan crystal bowls and NLP therapay.
- Art therapy group sessions with Yasmin.
- Tai Chi - This is a wonderful way to energise your body and energy system with peaceful movements
- Meditation - an opportunity to quieten the mind and open the heart.
- Art and craft activities with Hana including felting and countryside sketching.
- Countryside walks
- Prayers and group dhikrs
At the Azahara centre there are lots of spaces for group activities and prayers.
Each sister will be personally met at Malaga airport and then transported to the centre.
You will then be shown your room, either private or shared with one other sister, depending on which option you have booked. We will then have welcoming activities and a lovely home-cooked meal.
The next day you will meet the other therapists and have your private sessions booked in over the week.
There will be group art therapy and self-compassion sessions as well as creative and movement activities during each day as well as plenty of quiet time to rest and reflect.
Breakfasts will be relaxed and in each of the houses and then lunch and dinner will be provided on the main patio. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
There is a lovely pool which is completely private so sisters can enjoy a swim when they like.
On Friday, there is an optional trip to attend Juma prayer in Orgiva, which is part of the traditional Jumaat led by Sheikh Umar. There is a small market after Juma to purchase local crafts.
On Saturday we have our farewell activities in the morning and then travel to Malaga for our return flights.
Some sisters may want to continue their stay and explore the area - please ask if you'd like more information about this!

Felting and art activities
Hana Horack El-Yafi is a professional artist and co-founder of Halima Retreats.
She leads felting workshops and works for her charity, Team Imagineers.
Hana has been a student of Sufism for almost thirty years and has ijaza for healing.
Yasmin Watson is the founder of Halima Retreats and has trained at the Institute for the Arts in Education and Therapy as a BACP counsellor using the Arts. This includes art, drama, play and music therapy. Art therapy is a particularly effective and insightful way to explore the heart and our subconcious, unblocking past trauma and negative experiences.
Yasmin has also been a student of Sufism for the last twenty years under the guidance of her Sheikh.
Raheema Chandler is a gifted healer and therapist using a range of modalities including Tibetan Crystal Bowls, hypnotherpy and NLP.
Raheema has been given ijaza by Maulana Sheikh Nazim (q).
Raheema has a beautiful therapeautic space where all sisters can relax between sessions.
Saffia Abalos is a trained masseur, specialising in Mizan therapy which is especially developed for women womb health. Saffia has also recently qualified in kinesiology.
Who is this retreat for?
This retreat has been designed with the intention to draw closer to Allah (swt) and to provide a sisters only space in which to emotionally heal, to discover more about oneself and to practice more self-compassion. It is ideal for those who;
- Have experienced loss and separation, for example, of family members, a marriage, a job or even questioning faith.
- Wish to improve the quality of the relationships around them.
- Wish to heal from trauma, either recent or in the past.
- Want to simply improve the knowledge of themselves to continue drawing closer to Allah.
Due to the nature of the retreat, we would not advise those sisters who have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorders, schizophrenia, or other serious mental health issues. But please get in touch and we can advise further.

We will then be in touch to discuss your place, any further information you may need, and any assistance you may need to book your flights.
We will need a 50% deposit to secure your place and we have a refund policy that you can see on our terms and conditions. The terms and conditions also include our Covid-19 policy.
We also can arrange a payment plan.
The remaining balance will become due four weeks prior to departure.
